We will be hosting our Second Annual Dek Hockey Fundraiser Tournament to benefit the Julia Hockey Mazur Foundation!! Julia Hockey Mazur lost her battle with cancer in November of 2023 at the shocking age of just 20 years old. She was an avid hockey enthusiast, and member of the hockey community in NEPA. She worked on the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins Ice Crew since she was only 14 years old! She had also worked at both local ice rinks, as well Wilkes University Men's Ice Hockey team. She loved hockey more than ANYONE, so much so that she legally changed her middle name to hockey.
This tournament is to honor her legacy, her commitment and her love for the hockey community here in NEPA. Proceeds for the tournament will be going to her foundation, Julia Hockey Mazur Foundation, created by her mother, Carey.
She also was a HUGE Taylor Swift fan!!! We know she'll be cheering us on listening to the Eras Tour on repeat!!
